Explore Our Core Pillars

A closer look at how ALI develops faculty, builds leaders, and measures what works.

Faculty Certificate in Teaching and Learning (FCTL)

Developed in collaboration with LUMS faculty, the Faculty Certificate in Teaching and Learning (FCTL) program begins with an intensive 5-day Instructional Strategy Design (ISD) training, establishing a foundation for long-term instructional excellence across disciplines.

Program Overview & Flexibility

The FCTL program supports faculty in achieving pedagogical standards aligned with the Aror University Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure Policy. Designed to accommodate demanding teaching and research schedules, the certificate offers flexible, differentiated routes:

  • Customized Pathways: School-specific interventions tailored for faculty at different career stages.
  • Theory & Practice Certificate: Highly recommended for early-career faculty with limited prior higher education teaching experience.
  • Bespoke Workshops: Continuous professional development modules, including the Inclusive Teaching Dialogue series, Authentic & Renewable Assessments, and Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning.

Leadership Pathways

Structured experiences that build confidence in academic and administrative leadership.

Our leadership initiatives build leadership capacity, equipping faculty and administrators to lead departments, committees, and institutional programs effectively.

  • Academic Leadership Programs: Specialized cohorts designed for department chairs, program coordinators, and committee leaders focusing on strategic planning, team management, and decision-making.
  • Governance & Policy Alignment: Practical training in academic governance, curriculum alignment, accreditation readiness, and institutional policy implementation.
  • Mentorship & Career Transitions: Executive pairing and peer coaching to support faculty transitioning into administrative and academic leadership roles.

Evidence & Impact

We evaluate outcomes and share insights to scale what works across the university.

Grounded in continuous assessment and educational research, we measure program effectiveness to scale proven practices across all university faculties.

  • Analytics & Program Evaluation: Systematic tracking of workshop participation, pedagogical adoption, and long-term instructional effectiveness.
  • Educational Pilot Interventions: Rigorous testing of novel classroom methodologies within target departments before full university-wide adoption.
  • Institutional Insight Reports: Synthesizing data into white papers, best-practice briefs, and policy recommendations to shape institutional academic standards.
